The last part of a walking trip through Europe, unfinished, but just as much of an adventure and a fairy tale as the other two. The last part of his trip along the coast of the Black Sea is really haunting. But the bonus of this book is his trip to Mount Athos, where Fermor walks from monastery to monastery and stays there for a few nights. I don't know where you can find a description of Mt. Athos this elaborate, and I think most of it has fallen to bits by now. A wonderful experience, again.
The trouble is the kindle version is badly produced. The majority of the links to the foot notes do not work as the typist did not leave a gap after the preceding word. Very frustrating3 Stars only because of this. Otherwise 5
I think the authors have done an excellent job in concluding Fermor's memorable journey across Europe - taking into account his unique style of writing. I enjoyed the book very much.
